This course aims to provide students with the concepts of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, the processes of preservation, management, and transmission of heritage to future generations, and to raise awareness about the socio-economic role of cultural heritage.

Introduction to cultural heritage; tangible (movable/immovable) and intangible heritage; national and international preservation laws and organizations (UNESCO, ICOMOS); cultural heritage management and tourism; major heritage sites in Turkey and the world.
