Objectives of the Course

To provide fundamental knowledge and practical skills regarding occupational health and safety hazards, risks and preventive measures in the construction and mining sectors; to develop competency in relevant legislation, standards and inspection processes.

Course Content

Safety legislation in construction work, working at height, excavation and ground safety, scaffolding, crane and lifting equipment safety, mine safety, underground and open-cast mining, use of explosives, dust and gas hazards, personal protective equipment, emergency management.
