The Fashion Design Program at Aydın Adnan Menderes University’s Aydın Vocational School aims to train creative, technically knowledgeable, and innovation-oriented fashion designers who meet the needs of the fashion, textile, and ready-to-wear sectors. The program provides students with theoretical and practical training in areas such as garment design, pattern making, sewing, collection development, textile surface design, and computer-aided design and production processes. A key feature distinguishing this program from others is the inclusion of courses focused on accessory design and product development using leather; these courses encourage students to familiarize themselves with diverse materials and create original, leather-based accessories and products.
Emphasis is placed on developing students' aesthetic perspectives, as well as their skills in problem-solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship, and brand building. Contemporary topics such as sustainable fashion, digital design, AI-assisted applications, and eco-friendly production methods are also integrated into the curriculum.
Graduates can work in design, pattern making, production, and product development departments within fashion and textile enterprises, ready-to-wear companies, fashion houses, and the leather goods and accessory design sectors; alternatively, they can establish their own brands and workshops.
The program's primary objective is to train qualified fashion designers who effectively utilize technology, are capable of working with diverse materials, possess a command of production processes, and can create original designs.
