Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the historical development of the banking sector, the structure of the banking system, retail, commercial and private banking products and services, deposit and credit transactions, payment systems and money transfer services within the context of current financial practices.

Course Content

This covers an examination of the historical development of banking worldwide and in Turkey, the structure of the banking system, retail, commercial and private banking services, types of deposits, credit systems and types of credit, commercial banking products, banking transactions based on commercial bills, money transfer systems, and applications of electronic payment systems.

1.Explains the historical development of the banking sector, the structure of the banking system and its fundamental functions.
2.Compares retail, commercial and private banking products and services, and assesses their areas of application.
3.Classifies banking products by explaining the fundamental characteristics of deposit, credit and payment systems.
4.Explains the operation of banking services based on commercial bills, as well as funds transfer and payment systems, and assesses their areas of application.
5.Assesses the products and services offered within the scope of retail, commercial and private banking in terms of their intended uses.
