Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the functioning of the money, foreign exchange and capital markets, the fundamental principles of fund management in banks, fund management processes, and the national and international financial markets in which banks operate; and to equip them with the knowledge and skills to assess the key financial risks encountered in the context of fund management.

Course Content

The course covers the development of money, foreign exchange and capital markets; the effects of globalisation on financial markets and the banking sector; fund management in commercial banking; the key functions of fund management; the organisation of fund management within banks; fund management practices in Turkey and on international markets; liquidity management in banking; the key instruments used in financial markets; and an examination of the financial and non-financial risks faced by banks.
