The objective of this course is to introduce students to the fundamental principles of labor law, its sources, and the legal legislation regulating employee-employer relations. Furthermore, it aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge regarding employment processes in the finance, banking, and insurance sectors, including types of employment contracts, rights and obligations of the parties, working hours, wage management, termination of employment contracts, severance and notice pays, union rights, and the functioning of the social security system.
Evolution, sources, fundamental principles, and scope of application of labor law; concepts of employee, employer, employer's representative, and sub-contractor; definition and transfer of workplace; definition, types, and formation of employment contracts, and obligations of the parties; working and resting hours in work organization; termination of employment contracts, job security, and legal consequences of termination (severance and notice pays); principles of occupational health and safety; collective labor law, unions, and collective bargaining agreements; fundamental concepts of social security law and types of insurance.
