The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the basic concepts, scope and operation of non-life insurance; to learn about the cover structures, areas of application and key features of transport, marine, motor, general liability, engineering and agricultural insurance; and to equip them with basic knowledge and assessment skills relating to non-life insurance lines.
This covers a comparison of life and non-life insurance, the general structure of non-life insurance lines, transport insurance, watercraft insurance, motor vehicle and accident insurance, general liability insurance, engineering insurance, agricultural insurance, the basic cover provided under these lines, policy features, claims processes and an examination of current practices.
