Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to identify the latest technologies used in the insurance sector and the concept of Insurance Technology (InsurTech), to understand the impact of digital transformation on insurance operations, and to assess the applications of blockchain, artificial intelligence, data analytics and smart technologies in insurance products, services and claims processes; and to equip them with the fundamental knowledge and awareness required to keep abreast of technological developments in the insurance sector.

The concept of Insurance Technology (InsurTech) and its role in the insurance sector; key technologies used in the insurance industry; blockchain technology; smart contracts; artificial intelligence applications; InsurTech start-ups, the impact of technology on claims processes, the sharing economy, usage-based insurance applications, the impact of autonomous vehicles and smart devices on the insurance industry, virtual risk analysis, data analytics, personalised insurance products, customer-focused digital applications, the value that InsurTech brings to the insurance sector, and an examination of insurance technology applications in Turkey and worldwide.

2.Explains the applications of technologies such as blockchain, smart contracts, artificial intelligence, and data analytics in the insurance industry, supported by relevant examples.
3.Evaluates the impact of technology on claims management and emerging insurance applications, including usage-based insurance, autonomous vehicles, and smart devices.
4.Interprets the effects of insurance technologies on customer experience, insurance products, and the operations of insurance companies.
5.Evaluates InsurTech applications and recent technological developments in Türkiye and worldwide by comparing their contributions to the insurance industry.
