The aim of this course is to provide students studying in the field of child development with fundamental knowledge about AI-powered applications and digital education tools that can be used in early childhood; to enable them to evaluate these technologies in accordance with developmental characteristics, ethical principles, and children's rights; and to support their conscious, safe, and creative use in educational processes. Within the scope of the course, students are expected to improve their technological literacy in AI-powered content creation, activity planning, material development, and digital communication processes with families.
This course covers the concept of artificial intelligence, digital transformation in early childhood education, and AI-based tools and applications used in education. Students engage in hands-on activities such as selecting age-appropriate digital content, creating activities and materials with AI, generating stories, designing visuals, applying gamification, and individualized learning processes. Topics such as screen time, data privacy, ethical principles, children's digital safety, and the teacher's role in the use of AI are also examined. The aim of the course is to train students to become professionals who can critically evaluate technology in early childhood education.
