The Polymer Technology Program is a two-year associate degree program designed to train qualified technicians who can work in the production, processing, characterization, and quality control of polymer materials. The program provides students with theoretical and practical training in polymer science, plastics and rubber technologies, polymer processing methods, production processes, quality control, and occupational health and safety.
Supported by laboratory practices and workplace-based vocational training, the program aims to enhance students’ professional knowledge and skills while developing their problem-solving and teamwork abilities, professional ethics, and awareness of sustainable production. Graduates are expected to acquire the competencies required to work in production, process control, quality control, and laboratory operations within the polymer industry.
History
The Polymer Technology Program was created in the 2020-2021 academic year. Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, it will start accepting students and start its education life.
Mission
The mission of the Polymer Technology Program is to educate qualified technicians with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the production, processing, characterization, and quality control of polymer materials, capable of meeting the needs of regional and national industries. Accordingly, our core mission is to educate individuals who are committed to professional ethics, conscious of occupational health and safety and environmental protection, and equipped with problem-solving and teamwork skills, while embracing lifelong learning through an educational approach based on practical training, scientific and technological advancements, and collaboration with industry.
Vision
The vision of the Polymer Technology Program is to become a leading vocational education program recognized nationally for its educational quality, by integrating scientific and technological advancements in polymer technologies into its educational processes, embracing innovative and sustainable production approaches, developing strong collaborations with industry, and continuously improving practical training opportunities.
Purpose
Graduates of the Polymer Technology Program are expected to become qualified technicians who can undertake technical responsibilities in polymer material production, processing, and quality control; adapt to technological advancements; apply occupational health and safety standards and professional ethics; and pursue continuous professional development in the years following graduation.
Physical Infrastructure
Internet:
Our main classroom building, canteen, dining hall, classrooms and laboratories located in the Buharkent Vocational School campus have the "EduRoam" Wi-Fi internet connection opportunity offered to all students by Adnan Menderes University.
Courses:
Courses are held in classrooms in today's most modern conditions, with PowerPoint presentations and student-faculty exchange on the basis of student-centered understanding.
