Objectives of the Course

To be able to measure drawings using the AutoCAD package program for two-dimensional technical drawing applications, to be able to draw perspective views, to be able to print the drawing from any printer or plotter, to understand the basic principles of three-dimensional (3-D) drawing in AutoCAD.

Performs measurement preparation operations
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Explains the measurement preparation menus.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Performs measurement operations
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Explains Editing Commands in Dimensioning
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Isometric Perspective Drawing
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Explains the world coordinate system (WCS).
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Describes the user coordinate system (UCS). Knows the use of function keys in perspective painting
Week 8 - Theoretical & Practice
Draws lines, circles and ellipses in perspective drawing. Performs dimensioning in perspective drawing. Printing from Printer and Plotter 1. Selects the device and current value. Sets the paper size. Uses scale, rotation and origin (SCALE, ROTATE, ORIGIN) commands. (Midterm Exam Evaluation)

Three Dimensional Solid Modeling Applications
Week 10 - Theoretical & Practice
Three-Dimensional Drawing Explains coordinates in three-dimensional drawing. It moves the coordinate system to any part of the screen.
Week 11 - Theoretical & Practice
Explains the features of the UCS icon. Determines the viewpoint with the VPOINT command.
Week 12 - Theoretical & Practice
Performs wire frame modelling. Explains HIDE, ELEV, THICKNESS, 3DPOLY, VPOINT commands
Week 13 - Theoretical & Practice
Explains and implements 3DFACE, EDGE, 3DMESH, REVSURF, TABSURF, RULESURF, EDGESURF commands.

Explains surface modeling
