Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to give students information about the basic terminologies in polymer chemistry, naming, synthesis and physical behavior of polymers, by understanding the importance of polymers in our daily life.

Course Content

Basic concepts and definitions in polymer chemistry, classification and basic principles of polymerization reactions, naming of polymers, stepped polymerization, addition (chain) polymerization and its types (free radical, ionic), reaction mechanisms, melting and glass transition temperature in polymers, polymerization techniques
