The purpose of this course is for the student to learn the working principles and application areas of electrotherapy devices and to reach a level where he/she can perform electrotherapy applications.
To know the principles of low and medium frequency currents and to be able to apply them.
| 1. | It explains the physiological effects of thermal modalities. It knows the clinical uses, indications, and contraindications of superficial heat modalities (hotpack, paraffin, whirlpool baths, fluidotherapy, infrared, ultraviolet, etc.) and cold modalities (coldpack, cold spray, ice bag, ice massage, etc.). |
| 2. | The student understands the basic principles of electrotherapy, the effects of electric current on biological tissues, and the types of currents used in physical therapy. They can explain the physiological effects of direct current (galvanic, iontophoresis) and low-frequency currents (faradic, sinusoidal, diadynamic) on tissues. They are familiar with the clinical application areas, indications, and contraindications. |
| 3. | This section explains the physiological effects of medium-frequency currents (interferential current) on tissues in TENS. It covers clinical application areas, indications, and contraindications. |
| 4. | The purpose and mechanism of action of EMG-Biofeedback are explained. The indications and contraindications are known. |
| 5. | The expert explains the mechanisms of action of Russian currents, HVGS, and microcurrent applications, as well as their clinical application areas, indications, and contraindications. |
