Objectives of the Course

The purpose of Labour Law is to offer the basic concepts, and to acquire the theoritical and practical knowledge in labour law.

Course Content

The purpose of course is to teach basic concepts of labour law and to acquire the theoritical and practical knowledge for labor conflicts between the employer and worker working under an employment contract.

Week 1 - Theoretical
Concepts and sources of labor law.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Basis concepts: worker, employer, establishment (work place) and employer's representative, the principal employer- subcontractor employer relationship.
Week 3 - Theoretical
The principle of equal treatment.
Week 4 - Theoretical
The transfer of the establishment or one of its sections.
Week 5 - Theoretical
The concept of employment contract: The types of employment contract, employment contract for a definite term and for an undefinite term.
Week 6 - Theoretical
The concept of employment contract: Parttime and fulltime employment contract.
Week 7 - Theoretical
Concepts of job security, Notice of termination.
Week 8 - Theoretical
Justification of termination with a valid reason, the termination of the employer of an indefinite period employment contract for not valid reason. (Midterm exam evaluation)
Week 9 - Theoretical
Reinstatement of the worker in his work.
Week 10 - Theoretical
Right to immediate termination.
Week 11 - Theoretical
Collective dismissal.
Week 12 - Theoretical
Wages and its remuneration, minimum wage and over time wage.
