Objectives of the Course

The aim is for students to be able to plan a research process in the field of health; this involves defining a research problem, formulating a research question and hypothesis, developing a data collection tool, and completing the ethics committee application process to become ready to conduct the research.

Course Content

This course covers identifying a research problem, formulating research questions and hypotheses, defining variables, developing questionnaires and data collection instruments, validity and reliability processes, the ethics committee application process, preparing informed consent forms, and conducting a pilot study. Conducted on a practical basis, the course requires students to develop a research design through group work and complete the ethics application process.

Learning Outcomes

1.	Defines a research problem in the field of health based on the literature and formulates the research question and objective.
2.	Determines the research design and plans the population, sample, and data collection method.
3.	Develops a data collection tool (survey/form) appropriate for the research.
4.	Evaluates the developed data collection tool through a pilot study and makes necessary adjustments.
5.	Prepares the ethics committee application dossier in accordance with research ethics principles and carries out the application process.
