Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to enable students to comprehend the importance of close relationships, to learn the concepts and theories related to the processes experienced in these relationships and to be able to explain close relationships using this knowledge and to learn about the causes and consequences of various close relationship problems.

Importance of Close Relationships, Attraction and Relationship Development: Theories of attraction, Environmental and personal influences on attraction, Friendship and Social Support: Theories of friendship, Lifelong friendship; Romantic Love: Theories, Relational Sexuality, Sexuality and gender, Communication and Relationship Maintenance; Conflict and abuse, Relationship Termination, Different relationships, Gender
