Objectives of the Course

to give information on basic Biology

Course Content

The history of Biology, sub-disciplines of biology, scientific method and rules of scientific nomenclature, emergence of the livings and their basic characteristics, physical and chemical structures of livings, inorganic and organic substances, cell structure and function, general morphology of the cell, cytoplasm and organelles, nucleus and chromosomes, cell division and protein synthesis, development in the animals, animal tissues and organ systems, examination of samples from different animal groups.

1.To describe the history of biology and the branches of biology.
2.To describe the properties of organic and inorganic substances that make up a living organism, and explains the rules of scientific nomenclature with examples.
3.To describe the general morphology and shape of the cell, the cell membrane, and the organelles.
4.To distinguish between metabolic and hereditary processes in living organisms.
5.To recognize and distinguishes animal tissues.
6.To know the basic systems found in animals and explain them with examples.
7.To explain current topics in biology with examples.
