Objectives of the Course

The objectives of the History of Modern Turkish-Russian Relations course are important for students to develop an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the course topics. For this reason, the historical process of the History of Modern Turkish-Russian Relations course has been organized in a way that includes a set of objectives appropriate for this. First of all, the first aim of the course is to create a comprehensive historical basis for these relations. Clarifying how the important international events of the recent era affected the level and content of the relations of these two societies is among the subjects aimed at in the course. Another promised goal is to underline that Turkish-Russian relations have many aspects. Accordingly, the necessity of examining Turkish-Russian relations in many political, military, economic, cultural and intellectual areas has been determined as the integral aim of the course.

Course Content

Students understand development of Russia in 19-20th centuries. Comprehend the critical changes in Russia and impact of USSR regime on near world history.
