Objectives of the Course

Giving basic information about the Ancient History Studies and Methodology.

Course Content

Comperative evaluation of the historians of the Ancient East and West in the world and Turkey and in this context knowledge of primary and secondary sources that revealed the Ancient Western civilizations in particular.

1.to be able to recognize the diffrence of Antiquity from the other historical ages.
2.to be able to comprehend longevity of Antiquity comparing to the other historical ages.
3. to be able to notice differences of documents concerning Antiquity from the other historical ages’ documents.
4.to be able to explain why Antiquity is called as “Mediterranean Civilizations”.
5.to be able to evaluate studies from Turkey and to compare them with studies from abroad.
6. to be able to use basis of Ancient West and East Histories and to explain disciplines which are researching these histories.
