It is aimed in this course to discuss the educational institutions and the policies in the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey.
To teach educatin activities and institutions from establishment of Ottoman Empire to Tanzimat.
| 1. | to be able to describe the educational system of the Ottoman and the Republic of Turkey |
| 2. | To understand the characteristics of the Ottoman education. |
| 3. | To compare the classical and the modern Ottoman education. |
| 4. | to be able to evaluate pre-Republican education institutions, minority and foreign schools, and the Unification of Education Law |
