This course aims to examine, analyze and question Plato’s philosophy, one of the most important philosophers of ancient philosophy, on knowledge and being in detail.
In this course, we will first introduce the conditions that shaped Plato's philosophy and the intellectual landscape of antiquity. We will then examine the general features of Plato's Philosophy and his approach to fundamental philosophical problems and concepts. Next, we will analyze philosophical issues and concepts through selected texts from Plato's well-known dialogues. Finally, the course will conclude by exploring Plato's influence on contemporary philosophy and philosophers.
