This course aims to examine, analyze and question the Aristotle’s philosophy, one of the most important philosophers of ancient philosophy, on knowing and being in detail.
In this course, we will first introduce the conditions that shaped Aristotle’s philosophy and then the intellectual landscape of antiquity. We will then examine the general features of Aristotle’s Philosophy and his approach to fundamental philosophical problems and concepts. Next, we will analyze philosophical issues and concepts through selected texts from Aristotle’s well-known dialogues. Finally, the course will conclude by exploring Aristotle’s influence on contemporary philosophy and philosophers.
