Objectives of the Course

Teaching of Ottoman works methodologically, gaining ability to recognize the works

Course Content

Different plan trials on the architecture ,especially in the mosques and their implications in this period, will be described . The works of Mimar Sinan and his apprentices and their contributions to the Turkish and the World Art during this period will be explained in detail.

1.To be able to explain the development of Ottoman architecture and the art of the Classical Period.
2.To be able to examine and evaluate the works according to the characteristics of the Classical Period of the Ottoman Architecture
3.To be able to describe the classical works of Ottoman art and architecture
4.To be able to recognize Mimar Sinan, the most important architect of the Classical Ottoman architecture , and his works
5.To learn the magnitude of the reconstruction activities that started with the first Turkish-Islamic States in the Classical Period Ottoman Architecture.
