Objectives of the Course

Developing students’ ability to use dictionaries effectively and to apply a translation technique that involves dividing long or complex sentences into clauses or constituents, while enhancing their understanding of the differences in expression between English and Turkish, and applying this technique in translating English sentences and texts into Turkish.

Course Content

Teaching the effective and practical use of dictionaries, identifying the grammatical constituents of long or complex sentences and translating them into Turkish by dividing them into appropriate segments, and applying this technique to the translation of short texts composed of such sentences.

Teaching the proper use of dictionaries and demonstrating their contribution to translation through examples.

The identification of the constituents of complex or long sentences and the determination of their grammatical functions.
