The aim of this course is to introduce the undergraduate students the characteristics of the Victorian novel with an emphasis on social, political, historical, economic, and literary background of the Victorian era.
Study of characteristics of the Victorian novel, along with the historical, social, political, economic, and literary background of the nineteenth century England, Evaluation of differences between aestheticism of the late Victorian period, and didacticism, and morality of the early Victorian period.
