Objectives of the Course

To get to know the general history, basic thought traditions, thinkers and works of the approximately 2500-year History of Western Philosophy. To be aware of the stages that Western Philosophy has gone through.

Ancient, Medieval, Modern and Modern Period thinkers, traditions and works.

Learning Outcomes
1.Selects, uses and develops appropriate tools for the field of theology and uses the information and information technologies required by the field at an advanced level.
2.Learns Western philosophers, main movements, philosophical systems and basic issues in the ancient world.
3.Understands the problems of the history of philosophy that shape Western thought.
4.Gains critical thinking ability.
5.Learns the basic areas of philosophy such as metaphysics, epistemology, ethics and aesthetics.
6.Learns the relationship between philosophy and religion in classical Western thought and different perspectives on religion.
7.The student gains the ability to understand reality from different perspectives and thus understands that different people define issues in different ways.; ;
8.The student acquires the ability to write philosophical essays with coherent claims and clear arguments supporting these claims.
9.The ability to analyze, express, recognize and interpret arguments in philosophical texts is gained.
