Objectives of the Course

To enable the student to recognize the studies on the history of religions in the Muslim world and the West; To enable students to understand the history, basic beliefs and practices of religions.

Course Content

The emergence of Buddhism as a religion; Its difference from other Indian religions; principles of faith Judaism and its historical stages; principles of faith; sects (ancient and modern); current situation; Hz. Jesus and the emergence of Christianity as a religion; the historical phases it went through; formation of the principles of faith; sects (ancient and modern); The place of Christianity in today's world.

Learning Outcomes
1.Evaluates the History of Religions studies in Islam and the West in general terms.
2.Understands the place and importance of religion in human history.
3.It classifies religions from different perspectives.
4.Can compare religions in terms of their similarities, differences and common points.
5.Analyzes the phenomenon of separation that occurs in religions and the common unifying principles.
6.Interprets traditional and modern structures and new trends emerging in religions.
7.Can apply the principles of establishing a healthy, informed dialogue with members of other religions.
