Objectives of the Course

To teach the place and importance of "al-qavaid al-kulliyyah" in the History of Islamic Law.

Course Content

To cover the formation process of universal rules in the history of Islamic law from the early period to Mecelle and to learn the first 100 basic principles of Mecelle.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to recognize the legalization attempts in Islamic Law from the beginning to the present day.
2.To gain an idea about the importance and necessity of legalization in terms of legal science.
3.To have knowledge about the historical development and literature of Legal maxims.
4.To be able to compare Mecelle and other codes in terms of their content and technical features.
5.To be able to identify the similarities and differences between the Mecelle qavâid and the Legal maxims created in the classical period.
