Objectives of the Course

This course aims to examine the political structure and diplomatic relations of the Ottoman Empire within a historical context. Accordingly, the Ottoman Empire's foreign policy will be analyzed in the context of its founding, expansion, stagnation, and collapse periods, along with the causes, developmental dynamics, and consequences of these processes.

Course Content

By examining the transformation processes experienced by the Ottoman political structure and diplomatic relations, the empire's position within the international system and the changes in its foreign policy understanding over time will be explained.
