Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to exemine the dimensions of the security paradigm, to analyze the threats to tourism practices in Turkey and in the World within the current Security concept and to make students knowledgeable about Tourism Security at the conceptual level of understanding.

Course Content

Etymological and conceptual aproach to Security and its varieties, Tourism and Security Relationship, Threats to Tourism in General, International Relations and Tourism, Tourism and Terrorism, Tourism Law Enforcement, International Organizations for Tourism and Security, The dimensions that Tourism Security will reach according to the Tourism Trends of the Future and Tourism Trends and Turkey's s Tourism Security Strategy.

Learning Outcomes
1.To have information about the need for security, the concepts of security, the effects of security types on tourism and security strategies.
2.To have information about Turkey's Strategy and Practices for Tourism Security.
3.To have information about threats to tourism, public institutions related to tourism security, and the elements of security.
4.To have information about the relationship between tourism and security, threats to tourism, the effect of terrorism on tourism, tourism law enforcement and measures to be taken.
5.To know the Concept of Destination Image and Security, Security Measures in Destinations.
6.To comprehend International Organizations, Tourism-related International Organizations and Turkey's relationship with International Organizations from past to present.
