Objectives of the Course

This lecture aims to comprehend the development of Islamic legal thought and methodology in Muslim societies and to gain knowledge about the literature that has been developed in this field.

Course Content

By examining the accumulation of knowledge and literature in the field of the philosophy of law within Muslim societies, this study presents a comparative analysis with developments in other societies and explains the evolution of the philosophy of law in Muslim societies.

2.Gains a comprehensive understanding of the literature on Islamic legal philosophy.
3.Can critically assess the perspectives of classical Islamic jurists on the concept of purposive ijtihad.
4.Can critically assess the perspectives of contemporary Islamic jurists on the concept of purposive ijtihad.
5.Acquires an in-depth knowledge of the core areas of discourse within Islamic legal philosophy.
