The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the functions of religion at both individual and societal levels. It also aims to help students distinguish types of religious coping and explain the relationships between religion, mental health, and physical health. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyze the role of religion in psychological processes such as stress and depression, and identify the factors that predict happiness.
This course covers both theoretical and practical knowledge on the fundamental functions of religion. It includes topics such as types of religious coping, the relationship between religion and mental health, the connection between religiosity and physical health, the influence of religion in stress processes, and the association between depression and religion. The course also examines psychological and spiritual factors that contribute to happiness.
