To comprehend the importance of Hadith and Sunnah and its role in the construction of Islamic Civilization, to learn the basic concepts of Hadith Methodology and the Hadith sciences, to get information about history, narrators, sources, methods, literature and problems of Hadith, to learn the arguments of the orientalists and anti-Hadith movement and it's answers.
The position of the Prophet in Islam, the importance of Hadith and Sunnah, the stages of Hadith narration since the period of the Companions, the basic concepts of the Hadith Methodology, concepts related to Sanad-Matn and Narrators and the formation of schools are examined. And the arguments of the orientalists and anti-Hadith movement and their answers are discussed. The types of “Weak (Da’eef) Hadith”, which are among the subjects of Hadith Methodology, and the subject of acting upon Weak Hadith are examined. The reasons, types, ways of recognition, harms of fabricating (mawdoo’) hadiths and books written on this subject are discussed with examples. The basic hadith sources known as Kütüb-i Sitte are introduced with their characteristic features.
