Objectives of the Course

To obtain detailed information on the diversity of Hadith sources and to increase experience in understanding and interpreting Hadiths through sample texts.

Course Content

The nature of other Hadith sources before and after Kutub al-Sittah. The scientific journeys of Hadith compilers. The emergence of the Isnad system and analysis of the claims made by orientalists on this subject. Reading and explanation of sample Hadith texts selected from Riyadh al-Saliheen.

1.Defines the Prophet’s (pbuh) prophetic duties, Determines the importance of Hadith and Sunnah and their role in the construction of Islamic Culture and Civilization
2.Evaluates the formation of the Isnad/Sanad system and discusses the claims of orientalists that the Isnads were fabricated later
3.Applies the methods of finding hadith text, hadith narrator and hadith commentary through the internet and computer programs
4.Analyzes the importance of adhering to Hadith and Sunnah in terms of global conjuncture
5.Increases Hadith analysis ability by reading and interpreting selected Hadith texts from Nawawi's work called Riyadh al-Saliheen
