Objectives of the Course

To learn the history of Islamic philosophy, Islamic philosophers and their ideas, and to make comparisons. To learn about the conditions that paved the way for the birth and development of Islamic philosophy. To be able to relate the issues discussed in Islamic philosophy to today.

Introduction to Islamic Thought, Introduction to Islamic Thought and Translation Activities, Kindi - On First Philosophy, Abu Bakr Zekeriyya er-Razi - Living Philosophically, Farabi - Meanings of Mind; The Virtuous City, Ibn Sina - Metaphysics; Tawhid and Prophethood, Gazzali - Münkız; Tahafut Ibn Rushd - Fasu'l-makal; Tehafütü't-tehafüt, Ihvan-ı Safa - Treatises, Sühreverdi; Illuminationism, Ibn Arabi, Ibn Tufeyl - Hayy b. Yakzan, Ibn Khaldun - Introduction.

Learning Outcomes
1.Understands the basic concepts in the field of theology and has a good command of the relationships between concepts.
2.Has the ability to identify, define, critically evaluate, interpret, formulate and solve classical and current religious issues; For this purpose, it selects and applies appropriate analysis and modeling methods.
3.Works independently by taking individual initiative or takes responsibility as a team member to solve complex religious issues encountered in the social sphere.
4.It conducts interdisciplinary research - examination, interpretation and analysis by establishing relationships with the sub-branches of theology and other fields of science.
5.Has an open attitude towards changing life and innovation; is aware of social, economic, legal and political developments.
