Education in Faculty of Medicine, consists of a total of six years education of which one year is internship.

The aim of the training program of the Faculty of Medicine; is to provide education of physicians and specialists behaving in accordance with medical ethics, armed with the highest level of information as a professional, has gained research, practice and decision-making ability, has self-confidence, whose aim of the service is to protect the health of the community and treat patients.

The graduates can work as a medical doctor in public institutions (state and university hospitals), private hospitals and health care organizations and can serve as specialist physicians, academics, researchers in these institutions

Students who completes the Faculty of Medicine successfully can study in any specialty depending on the degree obtained in Medical Specialization Examination (TUS), be a specialist in that field. Also when they graduate from a second cycle program, they can receive education in third cycle courses.

In the faculty for the measurement and evaluation of the examinations, relevant provisions of Training-Education and Examination legislation of Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Medicine, are applied. The prescribed examinations for the basic medical sciences period are course unit exams, final exams and make-up exams. The prescribed examinations for the clinical medical sciences period are course unit exams, and make-up exams. These exams are carried out with the participation of multiple departments / divisions and clinical medical sciences related TEB sub-units which have lessons in the course unit and have practical and theoretical aspects. However, examinations of the integrated medical practice course units are performed in the form of an objective structured clinical examinations where knowledge and skills are assessed. Make-up examinations of final exams or course unit exams are the repetition of the actual examinations. To enter to the lesson/ course unit theoretical examination any student must have continuity for the related Department/Division and/or TEB sub-unit course theoretical lessons and practical applications of lesson/ course unit and must take at least 50 degree from practical exams. Basic medical sciences year period score is determined by summing the 40% of the course unit exam grade which is calculated in accordance with the grades on course committees during the year and 60% of the grade obtained from final/make-up exams. In order to be successful in the course units of clinical medical sciences,course unit exam or make-up exam grade must at least be sixty, besides after the application of dams, at least 50% of the grade from total theoretical grade should be taken.Success grade in the internship placed in the period of Family Medicine course unit is given according to the student’s performance in the course unit practices assessed by the head of the department or the responsible faculty member as stated in the Article 20. Passing score is 60.
