Objectives of the Course

After completing the ophthalmology course committee of the student who will graduate from the medical faculty, it is aimed to make a pre-diagnosis or diagnosis according to the subject, learn the treatment, emergency treatment methods, follow-up and prevention methods, and apply it at the level of a science-based general practitioner.

Course Content

In eye diseases, it is aimed to make a pre-diagnosis or diagnosis according to the subject, to learn treatment, emergency treatment methods, monitoring and prevention methods, and to provide the ability to apply at the level of science-based practitioner.

Learning Outcomes
1.To recognize childhood eye diseases that may cause blindness and to be able to evaluate them at the level of a general practitioner
2.To be able to perform optic disc examination with pupil and ophthalmoscope, to evaluate abnormal pupillary responses and optic disc at the level of a practitioner
3.To know eye emergencies that cause blindness such as retinal vascular occlusions and retinal detachment
4.To be able to notice cataract with light at the level of general practitioner, to know protective measures
5.To be able to perform a simple color vision examination and visual level required to obtain a driver's license at the level of general practitioner
