The aim of this course is; The aim of this course is to improve students' comprehension of sociological aspects of art, to understand the connections between contemporary art and sociology of today and to enable them to think of artistic creativity, development, dynamics and major qualities of art throughout the history.
The main topics to be covered in this course are theories of basic sociology of art; The relation between modernity, capitalism and art; production of culture and art; analysis of social, political, economic patterns and institutions related to art and artist; society, artist and artwork; ideology and art; The product of art can be summarized as the relation between globalization and art.
