Department of Elementary Science Education Undergraduate Programme established by decree of theFaculty of Education Council of Minister’s 01.09.1997 dated, 97/892 numbered declaration, Education and Training started graduate level education and training in 2005-2006. There are two associate professors, two assistant professors and three research assistants at the programme. The programme lasts eight semesters.
History
Council of Minister’s dated 01.09.1997 and 97/892 established by decree of the Faculty of Education, the Department of Elementary Science Education Undergraduate Programme affiliated to the 2005-2006 Education and Training has started graduate level education and training.
Mission
In accordance with the legislation in the Turkish National Educational System, Its aim is to train teachers who are qualified to work in primary schools and who own basic knowledge,skills and attitudes, Kemalist, secular, contemporary , democratic and true to the principles of republic.
Vision
The vision of our department is to maximize the credibility of the Department of Science at national and international level. Besides, we envision to be in a position in the field of acceptable and preferred at national and international level. Compliance with the European Union in the process of dissemination and development projects that our country needs to participate actively in science education and scientific research, information, and equipment support.
Purpose
The aim of Science Education Undergraduate Programme is to train teachers in accordance with legislation in the Turkish National Educational System who are qualified to work in primary schools and own basic knowledge, skills and attitudes and who are true to the principles of Republic, secular and democratic.
Physical Infrastructure
In-Faculty classrooms are used and there are two specially arranged laboratories for our department; Science Laboratory and Physics Laboratory for application lessons.
Technical Infrastructure
Students in the program benefit from the university library along with a library in the Faculty of Education. The students have the opportunity to participate in all cultural and academic events taking place in the Conference Hall of the University Convention Center and the Faculty of Education Conference Hall. In addition, the students participate in sporting facilities, and students' clubs individually.
