Objectives of the Course

The main objective of this course to provide students with the knowledge about developmental characteristics of childhood, adolescence, adulthood, middle age and olders and their adaptation problems and the ways of coping with these problems.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical
Generations: Birth and development of generations, Gender: Family relationship and siblings, Society: Mutually usefulness and happiness, Transformations: Life circles, Individualistic physical gains, family, genetic inheritance, social life.
Week 2 - Theoretical
Childhood in 0-6 age, growth: Personality characteristics of child, adaptation problems.
Week 3 - Theoretical
7-12 boys and girls' certain physical changes (such as height growth, the emergence of the first adult teeth) gender roles and awareness of the concept of family, the school and adaptation problems related to study habits.
Week 4 - Theoretical
Age of 13-18 years; physical and psychosocial development characteristics of middle and last adolescence, identity acquisition and adaptation problems related to these characteristics (friendship, gang building, risk taking, smoking, drugs, participation in illegal political groups).
Week 5 - Theoretical
19-24 years young adulthood: Love; marriage; physical development and brain development; loss of grandparents, social awareness; university, military service, specialization, business life and business changes.

25-30 adult business owner, new home building, having children
Week 7 - Theoretical

Week 8 - Theoretical
31-36 child breeding and gender roles (Mid Term Exam)

37-42 years career development, social productivity

43-48 middle age crisis, children leaving home and marrying, antropose, death of parents.

49-54 Middle age; emergence of psychological maturity, children having house, birth of grandchildren

55-60 grandfather-grandmother roles; mentoring

61-66 years of psychological and social maturation and leadership of young people in terms of life experience
