The aim of this course is to obtain a general perspective about how genes influence behaviors. This course covers usage of genetic methods to investigate the nature and origins of individual differences in behaviour.
This course will consider evidences from humans and the major model organisms of mouse, fruit-fly and nematode worm to demonstrate how much of our current understanding of the genetic basis of human behavior stems from our exploration of other animals.
| 1. | To able understand how important are genetic influences on behavior? |
| 2. | To able understand how many genes influence an individual behavior? |
| 3. | To able understand how much influence does a single gene have? |
| 4. | To able understand how do genes interact with the environment to influence the development of behavioral traits? |
| 5. | To able understand what are the differences between humans and 'simpler' organisms when it comes to the genetic control of behavior? |
