Objectives of the Course

To instruct learners biological molecules and metabolic pathways, and the importance of the role of inorganic elements.

Course Content

This course provides necessary background information on coordination chemistry ,the properties of metals for specific functions, and related biomolecules in biochemistry and biological systems and their functions.

1.Demonstrate knowledge of the different roles of metal ions in biological systems
2.To be able to understand the mechanisms of very different reactions directed by metal ions in living systems
3.To be able to comprehend the structure and function of proteins containing metal ions.
4.To be able to comprehend the structure and function of enzymes containing metal ions.
5.To be able to comprehend the structure and function of biomolecules which do not exist in protein structure and which contain metal
