Objectives of the Course

In this course, it is aimed to develop a certain awareness and ability to analyze by reviewing the historical roots and current situation of Turkey's current social, economic, cultural and political problems.

Course Content

Within the scope of the course, Turkey's current problems are discussed in the sociological context. In this direction, the historical background of current political, economic, social and cultural issues; current status, perception and interpretation of these issues; linking current issues on a global and local scale; case studies and analysis; Themes such as the way different disciplines in the field of social sciences deal with current problems and the differences in perspective development constitute the main content of the course.

1.Comprehension of discussions on current problems;
2.To be able to define and make sense of the main debates and theories on current problems in the modern and postmodern periods;
3.Have an advanced level of knowledge of current problems and demonstrate the ability to relate it to current social theory;
4.To be able to comprehend the changing nature and dynamics of change of the studied phenomena and concepts with the transition from the modern period to the postmodern period;
5.To develop the ability to display a critical and objective approach when examining current issues;
