Objectives of the Course

A comparative and analytical examination of the phonetic and morphological differences between historical Turkish dialects.

Course Content

After determining the phonetic and morphological differences between historical dialects, the period is determined by revealing the characteristic features of each dialect.

1.to be able to define the historical and contemporary dialects.
2.to be able to explain Turkish communities outside Turkey.
3.to be able to explain occurrence and the reasons of the occurrence of Turkish writing dialects.
4.to be able to give examples to Turkish writing dialects.
5.Students know main phonetic and morphological features of historic accents of Turkish, and classify the texts according to the period they belong to.
