Objectives of the Course

It is aimed in this course to evaluate the internal and external dynamics that shaped the Ottoman political, social and economic history from the very beginning of the 20th Century to 1922.

Explaining the Ottoman monarchical and republican transition period and comprehend .

1. to be able to write the situation of the Ottoman Empire in the 20th Century and compare with European states.
2.to be able to comprehend how western imperialism began to pay attention to the Ottoman Empire
3.to be able to explain the political, social and economic dynamics of the Second Constitutional Period
4.to be able to explain the reasons of the changes in the Balkans and the World War I
5.to be able to discuss the social history of the War of Independence and the reasons for removal of the sultanate
