Objectives of the Course

This course covers some of the salient themes in the economic history of Turkey starting with the 19 th century economic transformation in the Ottoman Empire.

Course Content

Explaining the Ottoman occupation period and the character of social and economic reform period compared with Turkey Ataturk era, statism Meaning, emphasis on the importance of the First and Second Five Year Industry Plan II. In the bipolar world order established after World War II Turkey's position will be determined. This layout includes a place in Turkey's quest for querying, with the single-party era of the Democratic Party's economic policy followed by the comparative analysis will be done. Post-1960 economic policies will be evaluated to date.
