The course objective is to explain and evaulate the emergence of the United States as a World power.

Indigenous civilizations include the discovery of the continent by Europeans, colonization of North America, British administration, the establishment of the United States, the war of independence against the British Empire, slavery, civil war, the social, economic and political transformation of the United States in the 20th century and the rise of global domination.
