Objectives of the Course

In this course, the history of Turkish communication will be discussed. Course, pre-Ottoman communication system, Classical period Ottoman system, Tanzimat Period and changes taking place in the system, the arrival of the telegraph to the Ottoman Empire, the establishment of the Ottoman Postal and Telegraph Directorate, the telephone in the Ottoman Empire and the aim of providing an understanding of the Ottoman communication system in World War I .

Communication among the ancient Turks . communication in the Islamic state. Geographical Discoveries in the communication age. Classical Ottoman communication system. Range structure . Tatarlıg the mail . Tanzimat era and a new era in communications. The Ministry of Post and Telegraph and organization structure. Second Constitutional Period communications. The First World War and after the communication .
