Objectives of the Course

From the Reformation to the present day, the woman's family in Turkey, business, politics, government, law, religion, education, health, sexual identity, art, put out the changing status in the media and popular culture, making the transfer on the women's movement.

Course Content

Studies on the struggle for existence of women are evaluated. The history of women's movement is explained.

1.Revealing the developments in women's rights from Tanzimat to the present day
2.Raising the status of women in the Tanzimat and Constitutional Monarchy periods in the Ottoman Empire and comparing the problems they faced in family and society
3.Comparing the position of women in education, political and social life during the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey periods
4.Having sufficient bibliographic knowledge about women's history
5.Questioning the problems that women, who constitute the other half of society, face today and finding solutions
6.Being sensitive to economic, sexual and psychological violence issues
7.Questioning the causes and consequences of honor killings
