Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to develop students’ vocabulary knowledge; to ensure a fluent speech by increasing the knowledge of grammar, intonation and pronunciation; to improve students' communication skills and critical thinking through class discussions.

Course Content

Students are encouraged to speak English fluently, to follow grammar rules and to use correct intonation and pronunciation. Through individual and group presentations, students learn how to use body language effectively in front of people. Students are asked to do research, use library and internet sources while preparing for the presentation. The importance of planning and the use of accurate presentation materials are emphasized. Students are expected to respond fluently to the questions asked by their classmates.
